Game Rules for Team Participants and Spectators

Please Note: Rules Can Be Over Ruled By Site Director

​

*ALL GRADES ARE BASED ON THE CURRENT SCHOOL YEAR AS OF SEPT. 1ST. Coaches please travel with birth certificates and report cards for all of your players.

​

2 coaching passes are issued per team. Coaches must check in at the registration table. 

​

Game Times:

Division 3rd-5th Grade - Two 12 Minutes Halves

Division 6th-8th Grade - Two 13 Minutes Halves

Division 9th-12th Grade – Two 14 Minutes Halves

​

All girl's divisions will play with a 28.5 and boys in grades 2nd-6th will also play with a 28.5

basketball. Boys in 7th-12th grade will use a 29.5 basketball.

​

Overtime will be 1 minute – Max of 1 OT. Then Sudden Death, First Team to score 2 points!

​

A running clock will be used if any team is leading by 20 points; it will return to a stopped clock if the score goes under 12 points. Any Team Who Is Leading Can Not Press During Running Clock.

​

****Teams will shoot 1 & 1 at 7 teams foul in a half. Teams will Shoot Double Bonus on the 10th Foul ****

​

Warm Up is 3 minutes / Halftime is 2 minutes (Subject to Change by Site Director). Warm-up

times can be extended to 5 minutes if games are running ahead of schedule.

​

Four time outs per game; two fulls and two thirty-second time outs.

​

​

Pool play ties and record ties will be determined by the following:

Head to Head

Point Differential (20pts Max)

Points Given Up

Total Points Scored

Coin Toss

* NOTE – Some divisions may not have pool play/bracket play

 

Other Game Rules:

​

Technical Fouls

Each coach or player will be allowed two technical fouls per game. After a second technical foul players/coach will be ejected from game (cannot be in gym). After first technical foul, the coach must remain seated for the duration of the game. (Sit-out rule will base on Official)

​

High School Free Throw Rule:

Starting above the low block, Playing On-The-Release.

All other North Carolina High School Athletic Association Rules will be used.

If a coach /or spectator becomes unruly during the tournament, they will be asked to correct

their behavior, and if that does not ease the situation, the coach/or spectator can and will be

asked to leave the gym for the duration of the tournament, without refund. If the unruly spectator

  • has a child on the team, the child will also be ejected from the game. The player can return to the next game, however, the parent may not return to the tournament.

    ​

  • *Home Team is listed first or on top and wears white or their light-colored uniform, and will be the official scorekeeper for both teams during each game.

    *Away Team is listed second, will wear dark-colored uniform, and will be the official clock

    operator for both teams during each game (If needed).

    Our goal is to keep the game schedule running on time. All teams need to be present 30 minutes prior to game time start, *Games can start 20 minutes prior to schedule game time to keep the flow of the game on schedule*. A forfeit is declared at the end of the warm-up period prior to game time.

*** REFUND POLICY ***

THERE ARE NO REFUNDS FOR TEAMS AFFECTED BY ANY FORFEIT ONCE THE

SCHEDULE IS RELEASED.

***PLAYER PROTEST***

  • ALL PROTESTS COME WITH AN $100 NONREFUNDABLE PROTEST FEE. PROTEST MUST BE DONE BEFORE THE GAME STARTS. NO PROTEST OF ANY PLAYER MAY BE CONDUCTED DURING OR AT THE CONCLUSION OF ANY GAME.
